Watch FSU Professors Debate the Limits of Free Speech

FSU’s Institute for Governance and Civics (IGC) and FSU’s Office of Public Policy Events hosted a First Amendment debate moderated by Professor Denise Harle, Director of FSU Law’s First Amendment Clinic and IGC’s Conscience Liberty Branch.

The debate featured Professor Jacob Eisler from FSU Law and Professor Darren Brooks from FSU’s College of Business, who discussed practical ways young professionals can engage in free speech in the workplace. Their debate centered around the constitutional limits of the First Amendment and the real-world consequences that can arise when speech is legally protected but professionally inappropriate.
